Explore One of the Most Biodiverse ocean Regions via a megafauna safari
The Baja Peninsula is one of the most megafauna-rich regions on the planet, and La Ventana, perched at the mouth of the Sea of Cortez, is its beating heart. Nutrient-dense currents pour into the bay, drawing in resident species and migrating giants alike. Matched with stunning landscapes, the region is one of the best in the world.
For five days, we’ll explore the region on a private vessel, scanning the horizon for whatever extraordinary encounter the day decides to bring. The opportunities to come face-to-face with rare species are truly endless. From schools of rays to gentle giants like whale sharks and potentially even the ocean’s top predator, the killer whale.
The Experience
Each morning, your private vessel collects you from your beautiful beachfront accommodation and points towards open water. No two days are the same. This is a true safari at sea, a wide ranging search guided by local expertise, expert spotters, and years of accumulated knowledge of where the wildlife moves and when. This gives us the best odds for magical encounters every day.
After each day you’ll return to your oceanfront boutique hotel to relax by the pool and enjoy the AC, sea breeze and a stunning Baja Sunset.
Why La Ventana?
La Ventana sits at the convergence of cold, plankton rich currents and warm tropical water. A biological crossroads that supports an abundance of life. The Sea of Cortez has been called "the world's aquarium" by Jacques Cousteau and La Ventana is no exception. Sightings can include playing with sea lions, observing astonishing dolphin super pods, seeing various mobula ray species and even encountering rare cetacean species such as Orcas, Sperm Whales, Pilot Whales, False Killer Whales and more! Each day is an exciting adventure filled with possibilities.

The Manō Collective Difference
Traveling with Manō Collective means more than just adventure — it’s about connection, conservation, and craft. Our expeditions are led by marine experts, photographers, and storytellers who help you experience the ocean in a deep and responsible way. Co-founders Olivia Miller and Andrew Aggergaard hand-pick every operator we work with, vetting them for safety, ethics, and respect for wildlife. Our trips are timed at specific times of the year to avoid crowds and explore secluded dive sites that most boats don’t venture to, creating a truly unique experience.
